We had been searching for a dog trainer after our son, bought home a 5 month English Bull Terrier who had been crated most of his life called Frankie. The breeder had informed my son to hit the dog, as this breed only respond to violence.  Before Katy agreed to meet us, I'd called a local dog trainer, she told me that we had missed the window to turn Frankie into a dog who would do as he is told, he would never listen. Before I put the phone down, she advised me to take Frankie to a dog rescue centre to give him away.
We were very discouraged by this information. When I called Katy, to ask if she could help train him, she didn't hesitate. We met her during Covid 19 restrictions, she established strict boundaries with Frankie. She trained not only the dog to listen but my son, husband and me on techniques on how to get Frankie to follow basic commands.  Most importantly she reinforced a positive, kind and reward based training schedule. She encouraged us all to have fun with Frankie in return Frankie began to relax and show us his loving and very characterful  personality. In between training classes, Katy encouraged me to send her videos of Frankie's progress, she offered a  wealth of knowledge on handling techniques such as walking on the lead, stopping bad behaviour, getting the dog to listen and having set times to play. Frankie is now 9 months old, we feel happy and confident when taking him out on the lead, we have all benefited from having a now, loving dog who greets us every morning with a big waggy tail and a happy face.  We have booked a weeks holiday in Norfolk, Frankie is coming with us. Katys kind manner, consistent rewarding program and encouraging advice to us all has changed our lives for the better. I cannot thank her enough.

We took on our Jack Russell, Doris, when she was 5 years old, after she had acquired a very bad reputation in her two previous homes. She was a handful, to say the least! Katy was recommended to us by a friend and to say she was a life-saver is not an exaggeration. Katy was patient, kind, generous and understanding - and she was very good with Doris too! She helped us to get to know Doris better and to understand her instincts, insecurities, fears and behaviours. As a result of listening to Katy, and implementing what she taught us, we now have a calm, secure, loving, funny little dog who has greatly enhanced our lives. Our time spent with Katy was time well spent and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

We can’t recommend Katy highly enough.

A friend told us about Katy when we took on a 13 week old rescue puppy. We were very naive about what lay ahead but Katy got us through some very challenging times. Our dog has now grown into a joy to be around.

Katy is extremely patient, caring, reliable and knowledgeable. She makes training your dog fun and is committed to helping dogs and their people.

Katy also offers lots of follow up help and support and has always been there for us.

Pablo is my first dog and I was pretty clueless about training. Katy came highly recommended. I loved that she kept things simple - focussing on 3 essential things. She was also brilliant at trouble shooting issues that had come up for us. I really trust her advice on everything dog related. I think about what she taught me every day and try to keep reinforcing her lessons.

During lockdown here in Spain, I fostered a dog from a rescue centre. He had been found straying. He is approximately 3 years old and came to me on a months trial. I have called him Dante.
I rang Katy and just said HELP.
So since day one Katy has talked me through teaching Dante how to behave in the house, and to train him to come when called, wait and leave when told to.  Katy has helped me build trust with Dante. She has sent me some wonderful videos demonstrating her training. A lot of it through play which is good for both of us (keeps me fit). We are still practicing walking on the lead.  He is better in town now, but still gets rather excited and pulls at the start of our country walks.
Katy has and is there for us with great help and advice,  not only on training but all aspects of caring for my wonderful dog, who I have now adopted and hope will meet Katy one day when I bring him to England.

I grew up with dogs throughout my childhood but I never really had any awareness around their training or behaviour. As an adult, getting a dog for the first time for our family, we wanted to learn the basics to make sure we started out as we would mean to go on.
Katy came and worked with us as a whole family, as we introduced Coco to our lives, helping us work on the basics. Starting at home and in our garden, we all learnt together about jumping up, recall, heel walking and behaviour and then we progressed to the park until we were confident with her off the lead.
Coco continues to be a cheeky and excited dog but she has a solid foundation of training which we wouldn't have had without the sessions with Katy. The principles we learnt in those early days have allowed us to build on how we manage Coco as she develops and grows.

I have a new puppy and asked Katy to help with puppy training. We had several one to one sessions followed up each time with written material. She was extremely professional, calm and listened to my anxieties and gave me very good advice.

She has been extremely responsible and careful during COVID following the government guidance very carefully.

I felt able to phone/text and ask for additional advice.

I am now several months further on and I am  enjoying helping my puppy learn new things based on the initial guidance from Katy.

I will continue to highly recommend Katy to new dog owners.

Claude’s training class was interrupted by consecutive lockdowns and my ill health. Outcome: a delightful puppy but who was in charge according to his moods and needs.
Hugely frustrated I contacted Katy for a 1:1 session at home. It was the best thing I ever did. It transformed my relationship with Claude and brought back the joy of being a new dog owner. Why I would recommend Katy and 1:1 sessions. Katy arrived and immediately noticed things that weren’t helping my unsuccessful training approaches. An hour later I had a dog that no longer barked because he wanted attention and I could eat my tray supper on the sofa without a dog pestering me to the point where I was unable to enjoy my meals.  The techniques Katy offered were simple but transformational and worked IMMEDIATELY.   We had a further session in the park some weeks later to practice Recall. Again Katy could immediately see that whilst some of what I was doing was correct but that my mindset was incorrect and therefore sabotaging my efforts.  2 hours with Katy totally turned around how Claude and I interacted and brought back the fun and joy I wanted from having a pet. It was the best money spent and I would have happily paid double for what I gained from the sessions.

A friend recommended Katy, and I can absolutely see why. From the onset she had fantastically helpful advice that wasn't just centred on training a behaviour, but ensuring Goose was setup for success in all aspects of his life. I have no doubt that insight has played a large part in Goose becoming the amazing dog he is! Her calm, kind approach and tactful methods yield success quickly. I've never had a dog respond so quickly and enthusiastically to recall! She has also been interested in Goose's progress post training sessions and continues to offer sound advice when needed. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a few pointers or for more full on training. I think she'll be a part of Goose's journey for a long time!

We started the dog training classes with our one year old cocker spaniel, Rory. The course has been so informative and helpful. Katy shared lots of knowledge about creating good routines and habits with Rory, and gently pushed me and him to learn new skills. Since starting the course Rory is much more settled in a variety of different situations, and I have learnt what I need to do to help him be more calm and obedient. I feel even more connected to my dog and feel that I know how to help him to be a good boy. Thank you very much for your help Katy.

I joined Katy's 9 week class with my 5 and half month old English Springer Spaniel, Barney.  Over the weeks with Katy's calm manner and encouragement, Barney has learned to be calmer and we both continue to learn on this journey.   Barney being a Springer will always be an excitable high energy dog but with Katy's help and direction I now have the tools to carry on the good work we have achieved in this short time.  I have no hesitation in contacting Katy to run things over any issues I may have.

I highly recommend Katy to help you develop a great bond with your dog, while also instilling good behaviour. I brought home my 9 week old Golden Retriever (Almond) and was in a clueless state with sleepless nights and an overly active pup (being a first time dog owner). Life felt upside down, but soon after I did the first couple of sessions with Katy and the knowledge she shared during and after the sessions was so useful in helping Almond adjust to his new environment, calm him down a bit as well as teach him what's acceptable and what's not. Training sessions were fun and knowledgeable and I'm so glad I enrolled in these 1-2-1 sessions earlier rather than later. I now have such a loving bond with my dog, he knows when he needs to listen to me and these training sessions made a big difference.

ktk9’s 9-week training course came recommended to us by friends who had already benefitted from it.

As first time dog owners, we really didn’t know how to train our dog at all and very quickly came to realise that our pooch wasn’t going to become one of those beautifully behaved companions we saw out and about by herself.

The course provides an excellent base in terms of learning how to teach your dog to walk beside you on the lead (rather than pull on it, roam from side to side, stop to sniff at everything you pass on the road), teaching your dog recall, to drop or leave anything it has picked up that it shouldn’t have, not to jump up on people and to sit and stay.

We saw real progress during our time on the course and have the tools now to build on that, bed the good behaviour in and improve on it.

We had thought carefully about how and where to put our money in terms training and we’re really very pleased to have come across Katy. The course is time and money very well spent, very much worth the investment.

Unsurprisingly, Katy has a real and genuine want to see you and your dog succeed and having chatted with her about a few other niggling problems, we booked Katy in for a 1-on-1 at home. This can seem expensive but it was another investment very well made. Katy took time to investigate what the problems really were, trying to identity the real root causes and then taught us how to nip them in the bud. Before she had even left we saw improved behaviours in response to the training.

Overall, we’re very happy customers and would recommend Katy unreservedly.

Thank you so much Katy for the brilliant 9 week course my husband, Frenchie and I experienced.

I very much recommend Katy; she was super knowledgeable and kind throughout.

We re-homed our Frenchie at 9 months but didn’t start classes until he was 14 months and it was a great decision. We’ve learnt so much from Katy and importantly, we now feel confident using the skills we learnt in class. Katy helps you recognise what works and what doesn’t work for your dog - in our case, we know that food is our Frenchie’s best driver!

Katy has a very friendly and caring approach and we always felt comfortable asking her anything! We won’t hesitate to ask Katy for further training or advice if we need it. The atmosphere at the weekly class was lovely, professional and funny all at the same time. The classes always made me smile. It was great seeing everyone and their dog’s progress over the weeks. Thank you Katy :)

We wanted to thank you very much for the classes that we have attended in 2023 for 9 weeks.

Our puppy was always a lovely dog but we needed to learn how to be better and more disciplined owners, and how to guide her towards better behaviour.

And it was a great success. Not only we have learned all the basic commands, but also how to be the center of her attention, love, and fun. It was a very important lesson for us, as during walks our puppy was very excited about everything but us. It created a few unpleasant moments and could possibly have lead to dangerous situations.

Since we have completed the training, we have learned to give our dog lots of love and fun in a safe environment. It has also made being with her much more enjoyable for us, and we love her even more since then. We know the training did not stop with your last class and we need to continue doing the hard work, but it is so worth it.

Thank you very much for making our lives with our puppy even more loving and enjoyable, we will never forget it and we strongly and happily recommend your amazing and professional classes to all dog owners.

I can't thank Katy and her team enough for their invaluable guidance in training our dog.

With their expertise, we've mastered simple commands and improved our dog's walking and social interactions with other dogs.

Maybe you can teach an old dog (7-year old rescue) 'new tricks'.

Highly recommended!

Katy has been something of a lifesaver!

Bob, our Fox Terrier, was/is struggling as an older dog with a house move, which has caused anxiety and other issues.
She came to us, was listening, understanding, not blaming (even when we know we could have done better in training!) and gave a clear, straightforward plan of action, written up for a continual guide. She has since kept contact, been interested in the result of how Bob is getting on and continued to give advice.

In the midst of a difficult house move for the family, she has helped us cope and is helping Bob to adjust. We are really grateful!
